Please note, we can only accept returns or offer replacements on damaged items as we print these pictures on demand.
About our printing and mounting process
At Saltmarsh and Samphire, we print, mount and frame virtually all of our own work. The only exception to this is our aluminium prints.
All of our mounted images are printed on high quality, photographic paper. At the moment, Brett, uses Permajet products. PermaJet have won numerous awards. Brett particularly loves the overall sharpness and clarity, as well as the colour saturation and contrast their paper provides.
Used in conjunction with the Permajet paper, Brett chooses Canon’s ChromaLife 100+ dye based inks. The results are –
– 300 year album life
– 40 year light fastness
– 20 year gas fastness
– heat and humidity resistance
– Enhanced colour reproduction
Images are printed from a colour calibrated monitor, to ensure there is a correct colour match between screen and print. Mounts are then hand cut to best match the print and frame dimensions. The print is then hinge-mounted to the mount.
Each mounted print has a matching back board, which supports the print, and stops it from rippling. The finished item is quite a substantial piece that will not bend.
